"At Willow Wind Organic Farms, the Certified Organic label means more than just a farming technique. It represents the pride we take in producing foods that not only appeal to our customers, but enrich their lives
as well. Producing the very best is not merely important, it is paramount. Integrity is the heart of organic farming and we endeavor to make it the core of all our business relationships." Steve Walser, Founder and President of Willow Wind Organic Farms.
Willow Wind Organic Farms was started by Steve and Margaret Walser in 1980.
We noticed, while working at an organic foods distribution warehouse, a short supply of quality organic produce. With a 40-acre farm, an old Fordson tractor, and Steve's seemingly instinctive know-how for organic gardening, we began to farm, and produced fresh market organic potatoes and carrots.
By the grace of God, with the help of good friends, and our wonderful families, we produced a beautiful but small crop of potatoes... about 6 tons an acre... ignorance is bliss (we thought it was a huge crop)

...Now the farm consistently
produces 25-30 tons an acre of
spuds... we have learned a lot.

Willow Wind Organic Farm has now grown into a 640 acre farm in Washington State and are developing a 2,000 acre farm in Oregon State.
We produce many other vegetable crops including peas, sweet corn, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, kabocha squash, carrots, 10 different potato products, and are researching numerous other products to enhance the product line and bring more acres into organic production.
That 's not all, at Willow Wind Organic Farms we encourage other farmers to grow within the highest organic standards.

Who We Are
Most of us have fond memories of picking fresh
vegetables from
the garden. The palpable connection to the source of our food
just made it taste better. Willow Wind Organic Farms began as
Steve Walsers garden. Despite incredible growth, we maintain
that personal approach to farming philosophy. Our expertise
comes from the fact that long before we marketed our products
on a large scale, we committed ourselves to the principal of
growing organically. The garden just got bigger! We feel that a
deep belief in what we do is the most powerful motivational tool
there is. In fact, the "secret" to organic farming is no secret
at all! It is a willingness to adhere to the spirit, rather than just
the requirements. Our subsequent years of experience have
taught us that productivity and competitive pricing are not
mutually exclusive of our high quality standards. Rapid growth
into the frozen food marketplace has further illustrated this fact.
We are proud of what we do, and that pride is exemplified in
everything we sell. We offer your shoppers the opportunity to
revisit the garden with each meal.

A
True Organic Choice
Several years ago we became convinced that
even though we were producing really Great Tasting, high quality food, we werent
offering this as a choice to the average customer. While
most people recognized the benefit of organically grown food, few could afford
to double or even triple their food budget to accommodate this knowledge, hence,
no real choice at all! Willow Wind Organic Farms Brand grew out of the realization
that an environmentally
sound, healthy
alternative to mainstream products is only a viable
choice if it is also Reasonably Priced. The Willow Wind Organic Farms Brand
is the first line of quality organic foods that removes price from the equation.
This line is predicated on the belief that if you offer the customer a choice
of a premium quality organic product priced competitively with national conventional
brands, it becomes an Easy Choice.
The years of experience we have growing organic foods have
shown that we can offer True Value without compromising on our high quality
standards.
